Pepper Potion
Pepper Potion combines the warmth of cinnamon, cloves, and star anise with the peppery heat of seranno peppers and lemon undertones.

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoonwhole peppercorns
- 1 tablespoonstar anise
- 1 tablespoonwhole cloves
- 2 3- inchcinnamon sticks
- 3 dried serrano peppers
- 1 whole lemon -- peel only
- 2 quartsfiltered water
Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a 4-quart saucepan. Bring to a simmer.

Simmer for 30 minutes, uncovered. Turn off the heat, cover, and steep for 3 hours.

Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer with lined with cheesecloth or a coffee filter into a clean glass jar. Cover and chill thoroughly before using.

Fill a glass with ice cubes. Pour in the Pepper Potion to fill the glass 2/3 full. Fill the remaining 1/3 of the glass with sparkling water and serve.
