Pizza Sauce

Great pizza requires a great sauce. I usually double the recipe and freeze what I don't use to have on hand.

Ingredients

  • 2 15- ounce canstomato sauce
  • 6 tablespoonsgrated Asiago or Parmesan cheese
  • 2 clovesgarlic (finely minced)
  • 2 tablespoonshoney
  • 1 1/2 teaspoonsonion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoondried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoondried marjoram
  • 1/2 teaspoondried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoonfreshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoondried red pepper flakes
  • Kosher salt to taste

Instructions

    Combine all of the ingredients in a medium-sized pot.

    Simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes to thicken and meld flavors. Add water if necessary.
