- 1 15- ounce canchick peas (rinsed, drained, and dried on paper towels)

- 1/4 cupvegan Parmesan
- 2 teaspoonsItalian seasoning
- 1/4 cupfinely chopped Italian parsley
- 1 cupcoarsely ground cornflakes
- 1/2 cuppizza sauce
- 1/4 teaspoonKosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoonfreshly ground black pepper

Preheat oven to 400º F.

Heat the oil in a medium-sized skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onion and garlic until soft and transparent, frequently stirring, for 3 to . Transfer to a medium-sized bowl.

Heat canola oil in a large oven-proof skillet over medium heat. Gently place the burgers in the pan and cook, not turning, for 1 to until browned. Flip the burgers, and cook for 1 to to brown the second side.
